2019 FSF CASE BRAINSTORM
COME TO OUR NYC BRAINSTORM SESSION ON JULY 13TH OR SUBMIT YOUR IDEA BELOW BY JULY 14TH!
In an effort to make the 2019 FSF Case Study the most engaging case study yet, we want to hear from our scholars, alumni, mentors and Board on what topics they would like to see us craft our next case about. To get the creative juices flowing, we have posted our case study template as well as some guidelines on what makes a good case study.
Make sure to give some time thinking about your idea ahead of time – there will be a $1,000 prize for any scholar or team of up to four scholars with a winning submission! Join us at our Brainstorm Session in NYC in July to work on your idea with fellow scholars, mentors, and Board members.
What will happen at the actual event?
The purpose of the brainstorm is to refine scholars’ ideas with the help of the board, alumni & mentors. Scholars will rotate (along with their groups, if they have them) around tables at which they can discuss their ideas with alumni, mentors and members of the board to get a better sense for whether their prompt would make for an interesting case study in all four fields.
Do I need to do pre-work?
Coming up with a good case study prompt sometimes required some inspiration research, but if you feel like you have come up with a case idea without that, there is no pre-work necessary!
Will you assign me a team?
Scholars are encouraged to form teams of up to four prior to the event, but are also free to come up with ideas independently.
Who is eligible to receive the $1000 prize?
Only 2017 Scholars can win, but we encourage the board, mentors and alumni to attend the event as well and serve as a sounding board for scholars’ case study ideas.
What Makes a Good Case?
- It’s relevant & interesting: a good case is one that scholars will enjoy writing and judges will enjoy reading
- It’s got more than one right answer: a good case is open ended and has not yet been solved
- It’s broadly applicable: a good case is provides a common theme between design, marketing/merchandising, supply chain and technology/analytics
